Young Suns is multiplayer narrative-rich life sim set on Jupiter. Decorate and customize your own spaceship. Visit fantastical planetoids, derelict ruins, and converted stations with a crew of up to three friends or entirely on your own. Take on quests from the friendly citizens of Jupiter and help rebuild!
The people of Jupiter are newly free from corporate control, and they’ve entrusted you with your very own ship. There’s a lot of work to be done if we want to make this a better world! Experience dynamic storytelling that looks to the future with a radically optimistic viewpoint, focusing on the work that comes after liberation.
No matter where your adventures take you, your ship is your home in the stars—a space to cultivate, make, and repair. You can decorate solo or online with friends, rearranging a messy living room, perfecting a reading nook, or putting tchotchkes in the cockpit. During your travels, you’ll collect souvenirs, furniture, and clothing from the people, flora, and fauna you meet to show off to your crewmates and remember your adventures by.
Young Suns is constantly expanding and growing, and that’s reflected in both the story and the development process. Journey through the stars helping different Jovian factions achieve their goals of transforming the Jovian System into a home for everyone as the story evolves and the world changes based on the player-base’s actions.
Follow along with its development as KO_OP builds out the future in close partnership with the community. We have big plans for community story telling, live events, and tons of features that will be rolling out every few weeks. We can’t build the future alone—join us!

If games are a group project, why shouldn’t everyone get the grade? Founded in 2012 by Saleem Dabbous and Bronson Zgeb, KO_OP operates under a co-op model, dedicated to upholding workers rights and fostering a supportive and communicative culture, where everyone has a say in their working conditions.
Mission
KO_OP was founded in 2012 by Saleem Dabbous and Bronson Zgeb with the idea that independent game studios should operate more like indie music record labels: a place to make each other’s creative visions a reality. While our original inspiration was having people work on their own projects supported by an umbrella label, we quickly shifted to a more team-based approach, given the intricacies and challenges faced with shipping a game.
That initial spark led us to discover worker co-ops though, and we unofficially transformed our studio into a co-op in 2014 (unofficial in the sense that there are a lot of hurdles to jump to become official, hurdles we’re jumping!) We are currently undergoing a legal transition to enshrine our status as a co-op under protection by law, and you will certainly be hearing from us when that’s done.
We've released a few games since our foundation. LCGO: The Mirror of Spirits in 2016, GNOG in 2017, Winding Worlds in 2020, Ridiculous Fishing and Goodbye Volcano High in 2023, as well as a KO_OP Mini by G.P. Lackey: Dépanneur Nocturne.
